Who’s who?

Our Minister

Lionel arrived Preachingat Emmanuel from Stirling on the 1st August 2016 and was inducted on Saturday 3rd September 2016.

He completed his BD (Hons) Theology with Pastoral Studies at the Scottish Baptist College in 2014 and was ordained at Tillicoultry Baptist Church in June 2016.

Since January 2017 Lionel is also an Authorised Presbyter in the British Methodist Conference. His calling to minister at img009 - CopyEmmanuel is also recognised by the URC. He is married to Morag (profile below) and they have two children: Sarah (aged 3) and Peter (aged 2). Lionel also has four grown up children from a previous marriage.

Carole trained to be an RE teacher and taught for a couple of years before becoming a training officer, ending up as a senior Staff Trainer with the John Lewis Partnership.  She was a Newcastle City Councillor for 16 years before qualifying as an Accredited Lay Preacher in 2003.  She and Peter have been married for nearly 40 years and they have a son, Paul who is married to Hannah.

 Liz has serves as a Deacon and is the Chief Safeguarding Officer

   Terry is a Deacon and also hosts the Fellowship Group on a Thursday afternoon.

 As well as serve as a Deacon, Claire helps co-ordinate  JAM and is the Deputy Safeguarding Officer working alongside Liz



Rev Mo (Morag) Gibbs

April 2017-21Mo is married to Lionel and mum to Sarah and Peter. Prior to moving to Chatteris she was the Youth Development Coordinator for the Baptist Union of Scotland and is also an accredited Baptist minister having been Pastor with Responsibility for Schools and Community at St. Ninians Community Church in Stirling. Like Lionel, she studied for a BD in Theology with Pastoral Studies from Scottish Baptist College, graduating in 2010.  She is particularly interested in children’s and youth work, loves coffee and chatting as well as books and crime dramas!

Jean Hooper Jean Hooper-1

Jean was born in Manchester and settled in Chatteris 5 years ago.

She is married to Colin and has 3 sons abd 6 grandchildren (4 in Australia) and 1 great grandson. Jean is a retired teacher and really enjoys helping with JAM and has lots of fun. She has been privileged to know the Lord in her life for over 50 years.
